Jean Dallaire, the President of Bubble Soccer in Quebec, immediately puts everything on the table. The sport was firstly invented in Norway in late 2011. It looked very strange , but it happened to be a great fun. We gathered to enjoy this beautiful game while the players were putting those big bubbles on the head and torso. They prepared seriously for this event. It does look like it is going to be a serious day.
"Of course we can come to be very competitive, but at the outset, this is a game to have fun, to laugh and also to play good sports," Jean says with great joy on his face. He became president of the sport in his town in late 2013. Since then, he and his team have not stopped to develop and spread the game all over Canada.
The supervisor of "Canada Post" had the idea of starting a business of renting giant bubbles after seeing a video of bubble football in Italy, which was very popular on YouTube.
"I laughed so hard when I saw this ‘bubble’. Then, I said it was imperative to bring the sport here and to integrate it in Quebec. It would be quite popular in this area."
The first game was held at the Bishop Centre, on October 5, and since then requests to try the activity were over any expectations. More and more companies, schools and community groups are interested. The games do not last more than 10 minutes, as the moving by transporting a huge bubble on the shoulders can be very intense. If people are interested enough and "crazy" enough to dive into the adventure, it may be possible that Jean Dallaire start a Bubble Football League at the beginning of 2015.
It all started on a trip to Canada where we could test the bubble football for the first time. We enjoyed this time so much that we absolutely wanted to retry the experiment in Europe. We were amazed with the fact that there is almost no structure in this activity. On this basis, the objective of our project is to present the bubble football to the maximum number of people and if possible, close to their homes. For these people, these are unforgettable moments, full of laughing and painless falls.
For this, we want to develop this activity in 3 different areas.
